Ofsted

"We feel lucky that our little boy is in such a fantastic school." A parent comment to inspectors who wrote the latest Ofsted report on Priory School, which the inspectors felt reflected the views of the vast majority of parents.

In our most recent Ofsted monitoring inspection, which took place in February 2011, the inspectors commented 'the visionary leadership of the headteacher inspires all staff, pupils and parents to live up to their motto of "the children come first"'.

The inspectors found standards at the school are high, with most children leaving school at the end of Key Stage 2 with national test results above the national average. They commented on the innovative creative approach the school has to teaching the foundation subjects, children's engagement in and enjoyment of lessons, their excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning.

The Ofsted inspection's overall rating of the school was Good, with Outstanding elements.

"The commitment and dedication of [the] teachers make this a very happy school."
